Abstract:
The objectives: (1) compare and contrast
English and Persian adverbs, (2) predict
learners’ difficulties in learning Persian
adverbs, and (3) familiarize teachers and
learners with grammatical problems during
teaching and learning. Has 4 chapters.
Chapter 1 introduces the topic and the
research design. Chapter 2 reviews the
theories, stages and the methods of
contrastive analysis. Chapter 3 contrasts
different types of adverbs in Persian and
English. Chapter 4 depicts the results and
conclusions. This study shows that not only
do the differences pose difficulty in
learning, but also the similarities can
bring about problems and errors.
