Abstract:
Aims at presenting and describing the
concept of "collocation" in Persian and the
role of such compounds in applied fields
such as learner's dictionaries. Consists of
five chapters, an appendix and a
bibliography. First chapter is about the
framework of the research. Second chapter
includes the theoretical issues; theories on
syntactic, morphological and semantic
collocations and the criteria for their
identification are discussed in this
chapter. Third chapter is the review of
literature. In chapter four collocation in
Persian is introduced and described on the
basis of the theoretical framework of the
research. Chapter five deals with analysis
of the data collected during field research.
Questionnaire is attached (appendix).
Conclusions include the fact that
undergraduate, graduate and post graduate
students are more familiar with collocation
of compound verbs rather than non-verb
compounds.
