Abstract: Aims at preparing a teaching Persian alphabet book for Iranians as well as native speakers of English, interested in learning Persian. Consist of five chapters and two appendices. First and second chapters present generalities and theoretical issues; third chapter explains the research method. Forth and fifth chapters deals with data analysis and conclusions. After investigating the current sources and interviewing with instructors in this field, the author concludes that most of the Persian teaching books written so far, either ignored teaching alphabet or not use appropriate methods in teaching Persian alphabet. Lack of pictures and appropriate words for teaching alphabet are the main shortcomings of these sources. Appendices contain the questionnaire and a sample lesson.
