POLITICAL AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS STUDIES


The department’s core responsibilities include:

  • Selecting and translating key works in the field of International Relations into Persian, with a focus both on works that are of interest to the general public as well as classic texts that are the mainstay of international relations courses around the world. examples:

    Allen Cassels: Ideology and International Relations in the Modern World
    translated by: Mahmoud Abdullahzadeh

  • Editing and publishing the first ever Persian-language academic journal (Eghtesade Siassi) – politicaleconomy@gosympatico.ca - dedicated to the emerging field of International Political Economy with the aim of introducing and establishing the field amongst Iranian IR scholars (first issue to be published fall/winter 2002).

  • Editing and publishing a quarterly Persian-language academic journal focused on the multidisciplinary aspects of civilizational dialogue Pol-e Firuzeh (Turquoise Bridge)

  • Acting as consultants on related projects for the Cultural Research Bureau.

  • Initiating projects, such as that of compiling an annotated bibliography of IR-related books written and published in Iran.

  • Organizing national seminars.
