Background Evaluation and Detection
of Socially Crisis Inducing Focal Points
The Demographic Studies department was responsible for
the execution of this field study. The following topics were addressed:

Demographic status quo within the district:
incongruities in composition and distribution of population,
indigenous versus immigrant residents.

Social status quo: family, conjugal and literacy
inadequacies.

Socio-economic status quo: inadequacies in economic
activities, employment and livelihood.

Urban development: irregularities in land use,
communications network, availability of green/open spaces, and
housing.
-
Cultural matters: inadequacies in cultural /
entertainment / leisure centers, and sport facilities.
-
City services and public transportation: inadequacies
in medical services, pollution alleviation, and traffic control.
-
Social tensions: crisis inducing focal points
Upon completion of the fact finding phase of the project, in
conjunction with the Urban Studies department, solutions to the
above inadequacies and incongruities were outlined and proposed
to the municipality for strategy and planning modifications. After
consultative meetings a prioritization schema was also developed.
